News: SUV driver injured after crashing into building on Troost Avenue in Kansas City

KANSAS CITY, MO – A car accident in Kansas City on Sunday night left the driver hospitalized, police said.

 

WDAF reports the crash happened in the area of 77th Street and Troost Avenue. Investigators said the driver of a Ford Escape was going west on 77th Street at a high rate of speed at about 9:45 p.m.  The driver did not turn at the Troost Avenue intersection and continued straight, eventually crashing into a beauty supply store building on the west side of Troost Avenue.

 

The driver was transported to a hospital and was initially listed in critical condition but was later upgraded to stable.  No one else was inside the SUV at the time.

 

Police are continuing their investigation into the accident.
