News: Pedestrian struck and killed in Kansas City hit-and-run incident

KANSAS CITY, MO – The Kansas City Police Department is investigating a fatal hit-and-run incident that occurred Friday night, the Kansas City Star reports.

 

Police say a pedestrian was hit by a westbound Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck.  The collision happened in the area of Independence Avenue and Indiana Avenue at about 9:20 p.m. The pedestrian was pronounced dead after being taken to an area hospital.

 

The investigation determined that the Silverado driver left the scene but was followed by a witness to another location, and then returned to the scene. According to a police spokesman, there was additional evidence that the pedestrian may have been hit by another vehicle that left the scene going in an unknown direction.
