News: Multi-vehicle collision in Benton County leaves 7 injured

BENTON COUNTY, MO – The Missouri State Highway Patrol said a multi-vehicle collision in Benton County Monday afternoon left seven people injured.

In its accident log, the MSHP said that 52-year-old Roberta A. Everhart of Edwards was driving a 2010 GMC Acadia eastbound at Routes M and V at 2:20 p.m. when she turned into the path of a southbound 2000 Dodge Durango.  The Durango driver tried to avoid a collision by traveling across the center line, but the two vehicles crashed.  The impact also caused the Durango to hit two other stationary vehicles, a 1998 Dodge Ram 1500 and a 2002 GMC Sierra.

Everhart was taken to Bothwell Regional Health Center with moderate injuries. Her passenger, 38-year-old Samuel E. Campbell of Edwards, was taken to the same hospital with minor injuries.

The driver of the Durango, 28-year-old Kindra L. Elliot of Warsaw, and five of her passengers sustained minor injuries.  Two of those passengers were a 7-year-old girl and a 3-year-old boy.

Benton County Sheriff’s Deputies and Deer Creek Fire assisted the MSHP on the scene.
