BLUE SPRINGS, MO – The Blue Springs Police Department identified the two victims of a fatal crash that occurred July 2.
In a Facebook post, police said the people killed were a driver, 26-year-old Kody Ballard, and his wife who was the passenger, 26-year-old Aubree Ballard, both of Blue Springs.
The Ballards were in one of the vehicles involved in a two-vehicle wreck on U.S. 40 Highway at Southwest 19th Street at 5:20 p.m. The Kansas City Star reported that the other driver had minor injuries and was arrested but was later released pending further investigation.
As of Monday, no charges had been filed in the case. No further details have been released about the circumstances leading to the collision.
