JOHNSON COUNTY, MO – The Missouri State Highway Patrol said a woman was killed when her vehicle crashed in Johnson County on Wednesday morning.
According to the MSHP’s accident report, the wreck took place at 8:31 a.m. in the area of Highway E and Northeast 1221 Road.
An investigation found that the driver of a 2016 Jeep Wrangler was heading westbound when the vehicle crossed the center of the roadway. The Jeep went off the road, overturned, and came to rest after colliding with a tree.
The driver, a 47-year-old woman from Knob Noster, Missouri, was pronounced dead at the scene. She was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
The MSHP was assisted at the scene by the Johnson County Sheriff’s Department.
