News: Kansas City man fatally struck by car while crossing street

KANSAS CITY, MO – Police said a pedestrian died after he was hit by a car on a street in Kansas City early on Friday morning.

 

According to KMBC, the incident occurred in the vicinity of Linwood Boulevard and Benton Boulevard shortly after midnight.

 

Police said 58-year-old Anthony Beatty was walking across the street toward a vehicle parked along the curb when he was struck by a black Chevrolet Camaro going east on Linwood Boulevard. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

 

Beatty was not in a crosswalk at the time he was hit, according to investigators.
