JACKSON COUNTY, MO – Two drivers were hospitalized after their vehicles collided in Jackson County on Friday afternoon, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
State troopers and the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department responded to the area of Route F south of Zumwalt Road after the incident took place at about 12:30 p.m.
The MSHP’s report stated that the driver of a 2021 Nissan was headed southbound when the vehicle crossed over the center line and struck a northbound 2013 Kia head-on.
The driver of the Nissan, a 34-year-old man from High Ridge, Missouri, and the driver of the Kia, a 72-year-old woman from Lee’s Summit, Missouri, both suffered moderate injuries. They were transported to Centerpoint Medical Center in Independence. The Kia driver was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash while the Nissan driver was not, troopers said.
