News: Elderly driver dies after colliding with truck in Benton County

BENTON COUNTY, MO – A semi-truck and a pickup truck were involved in a fatal collision in Benton County on Monday night, state troopers said.

 

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol’s crash report, the incident happened along Highway 65 at Route CC.

 

As a northbound 2023 Freightliner was stopped at the intersection at about 9:25 p.m., the driver of a southbound 2001 Dodge Ram failed to yield and began to make a left turn.  The Ram then crashed into the semi.

 

The driver of the Ram, identified as 84-year-old William Bishop of Tunas, Missouri, was pronounced dead at the scene.  He was wearing a seat belt when the wreck occurred.  No other injuries were reported.
