News: Driver killed in pickup truck crash on Missouri Highway C in Benton County

BENTON COUNTY, M0 – A driver was killed in a single-vehicle wreck in Benton County on Monday afternoon.

 

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash took place on Missouri Highway C near Missouri Highway E at about 1:45 p.m.

 

State troopers said a man was driving a 2003 Dodge Ram eastbound when he crossed over the center line of the roadway multiple times, then overcorrected.  The vehicle traveled off the left side of the road, struck a fence and overturned several times before coming to rest.

 

The driver, a 23-year-old man from Clinton, Missouri, was pronounced dead at the scene.  He was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the fatal accident, troopers said.

 

The MSHP was assisted at the scene by the Benton County Sheriff’s Department.
