KANSAS CITY, MO – Police said a speeding driver was killed in a crash in Kansas City on Saturday evening, according to KSHB.
The accident happened on Troost Avenue near 75th Street at about 5:10 p.m. According to Kansas City police, the driver of a Chevy Silverado was going at very high speeds while headed south on Troost Avenue.
Investigators determined that when the driver tried to swerve around a PT Cruiser and a metro bus, the Chevy clipped the cruiser, struck the curb and went off the roadway. The pickup then collided with a tree and a metal power pole.
The driver of the Chevy, whose name was not released, was pronounced dead at the scene. He was not wearing a seat belt, according to police. The driver of the PT Cruiser and two child passengers were not injured.
