News: Driver fleeing in stolen vehicle crashes in NE Kansas City, injuring 2

KANSAS CITY, MO – A police pursuit of a stolen vehicle ended in a crash in Kansas City on Tuesday morning, reports KSHB.

 

Police said the incident began at about 9:40 a.m. at East 9th Street and The Paseo.  Officers started pursuing a Ford Explorer that had been involved in multiple property crimes.  The Ford driver was going west at a high rate of speed on Independence Avenue and tried turning left onto Indiana Avenue.

 

The vehicle hit a curb, overturned, struck an electrical pole, and then collided with the side of a building.

 

The driver was taken to an area hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening and was listed in stable condition.  The passenger was injured but declined medical treatment and transport.

 

No other injuries were reported in the crash, which remains under investigation.
