News: Driver dies following multi-vehicle wreck on I-435 in Kansas City

KANSAS CITY, MO – Police said a driver fell over a median to his death following a multi-vehicle crash in Kansas City Wednesday morning.

According to KSHB, four vehicles were involved in the accident that took place on Interstate 435 north at about 5:42 a.m.

Investigators determined that the driver of a Toyota was switching lanes in front of a Chevrolet Silverado near Front Street and was hit by the Silverado.

The Toyota then collided with a Nissan Juke, and a Ford Fusion struck both the Juke and the Toyota.  The impact of the collision caused the Juke to go onto a concrete median.

Kansas City police said the man driving the Fusion got out of his vehicle and fell over the median to the railyard below.  He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver and passenger of the Toyota were hospitalized with injuries that were not regarded as life-threatening.
