KANSAS CITY, MO – Kansas City police said a woman was critically injured in a pedestrian accident early Tuesday morning.
KSHB reports the woman was walking in the inside lane at 8500 Blue Parkway when the incident took place at about 5 a.m. She was struck by a Ford F-350 pickup headed west on the roadway, and was knocked into the median.
The victim was rushed to an area hospital with critical injuries. The driver of the pickup was not hurt.
The driver is cooperating with investigators, and told them he did not see the pedestrian until it was too late.
The accident shut down the westbound lanes of the roadway for about two and a half hours.
