KANSAS CITY, MO – Police said three people were injured, one critically, in a car accident in Kansas City on Sunday morning.
KCTV reports the incident happened on Broadway Boulevard near West 31st Street at about 12:30 a.m.
Police said a Dodge Ram 1500 pickup and a Mazda 3 were both headed south on Broadway at high rates of speed when the Mazda sideswiped the Ram, causing it to hit a curb.
Both vehicles kept going south and went across all lanes of traffic until the Ram pushed the Mazda into a concrete planter on the east side of Broadway and struck the car.
The driver and passenger were extricated from the Mazda and taken to the hospital, where the driver was in critical condition. The passenger’s injuries were not life-threatening. The driver of the pickup was hospitalized with minor injuries.
