News: Driver critically injured in rollover accident on I-435 near Truman Road

KANSAS CITY, MO – A driver was critically injured in a rollover accident in Kansas City on Wednesday morning, police said.

 

WDAF reports the incident occurred in the area of Interstate 435 and Truman Road.

 

According to investigators, the driver of a pickup truck was speeding on I-435 north and cut across all lanes to take the exit for Truman Road. A woman who was driving north on the interstate at the same time lost control of her SUV on the exit ramp. The SUV went off the roadway and overturned multiple times.

 

The SUV driver was partially ejected from her vehicle and transported to an area hospital with critical injuries. She was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.

 

It was not yet clear whether the pickup truck made any contact with the SUV prior to the accident. Police said the pickup driver did not stop afterwards. The person’s identity is not yet known.
