News: Driver critically injured in collision with KC parks department truck

KANSAS CITY, MO – Police are investigating a crash involving a car and a Kansas City Parks and Recreation dump truck, WDAF reports.

 

The accident happened late Monday night at Blue Valley Park on Topping Avenue shortly after 11:40 p.m.

 

Kansas City police said the driver of a Fiat 500 was traveling southbound through the park at a high rate of speed. The Fiat went onto the trailer of the Freightliner dump truck and crashed into the back of the vehicle. The car then traveled off the side of the trailer and overturned.

 

The driver of the Fiat was taken to an area hospital in critical condition. No one was inside the dump truck at the time of the collision.
