News: Driver critically injured following rollover accident in Kansas City

KANSAS CITY, MO – A driver was critically injured following a rollover accident in Kansas City Thursday evening, reports WDAF.

 

According to police, a woman was driving a Ford Escape south on Prospect Avenue at a high rate of speed about 6 p.m. when she lost control of the vehicle and went off the road near 45th Street. The Escape crashed into a fence and hit a metal sign pole before flipping multiple times. The vehicle ended up on its roof in a parking lot near the intersection.

 

After the driver was extricated from the Escape, she was transported to a local hospital with injuries that were described as life-threatening. Police said she was not wearing a seat belt.

 

The crash remains under investigation by Kansas City police.
