KANSAS CITY, MO – Kansas City police are investigating a car accident that left an elderly driver dead Wednesday morning.
A report by KMBC states that the incident happened on Ward Parkway near 66th Street at about 9:50 a.m.
According to police, 78-year-old Richard N. Stone Jr. was driving a Nissan Frontier north on Ward Parkway when he drove off the right side of the roadway and crashed into a tree.
Stone was pronounced dead after being rushed to a local hospital. No one else was in the vehicle at the time.
Investigators are trying to determine what led to the crash.
