SALINE COUNTY, MO – Three people were hurt when a car and a semi-truck collided on Missouri 41 in Saline County on Monday afternoon.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that a 2024 Freightliner and a 2011 Chevrolet were traveling eastbound when the Chevrolet overtook the Freightliner in the westbound lane. The Chevrolet driver made a left turn and the truck impacted the car’s driver’s side with its front passenger side.

The Chevrolet went off the left side of the roadway and struck a ditch, then overturned and came to rest on its top, facing south. The truck went off the left side of the roadway and came to a stop facing north.

The Chevrolet driver, a 77-year-old woman, was seriously injured while her passenger, a 52-year-old woman, had moderate injuries. The two, both residents of Slater, Missouri, were transported by ambulance to University Hospital.

The truck driver, a 52-year-old man from Marshall, Missouri, sustained minor injuries and was taken to Fitzgibbon Hospital. The truck driver was wearing a seat belt while the two occupants of the car were not, the MSHP said.
