News: Crash in Kansas City involving wrong-way driver leaves 3 injured

KANSAS CITY, MO – Kansas City police are investigating a collision involving a wrong-way driver that sent three people to the hospital on Saturday night, KSHB reports.

 

Police said the driver of a Honda Odyssey was heading east on 9th street shortly before 9:55 p.m., in the area where 9th Street is one-way for westbound traffic.   The driver entered the intersection of 9th Street and The Paseo without stopping and collided with a Toyota Corolla going south on The Paseo, causing the Toyota to roll over.

 

A front seat passenger in the Toyota was hospitalized in critical condition.  The Toyota driver was seriously injured and was listed in stable condition.  A juvenile who was a rear seat passenger in the Honda was taken to the hospital in serious condition.

 

The police investigation includes suspected impairment on the part of the Honda driver, who declined medical treatment at the scene.
