INDEPENDENCE, MO – State troopers said two people were injured in a vehicle collision in Johnson County on Wednesday.
The incident occurred on Missouri 131 at US-50 shortly after 5:30 p.m., according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol’s crash report.
The MSHP said a 39-year-old Warrensburg man was driving a 2009 Nissan northbound on Missouri 131 when he crossed over the center line and struck a 2017 Subaru that was going south.
The driver of the Subaru, 25-year-old Isaac Denney, and his passenger, 29-year-old Emily Denney, were transported by private vehicle to Lee’s Summit Medical Center. The two, both residents of Independence, sustained minor injuries. Both were wearing their seat belts at the time of the crash.
State troopers were assisted at the scene by Johnson County Sheriff’s Office deputies.
