News: 4 vehicles involved in chain-reaction collision on Interstate 470

LEE’S SUMMIT, MO – The Missouri State Highway Patrol was called to the scene of a multi-vehicle collision in Jackson County on Tuesday.

 

According to the MSHP, four vehicles were involved in the wreck on northbound Interstate 470 at Woods Chapel Road in Lee’s Summit at 5:30 p.m.

 

State troopers said the driver of a 2021 Kia overtook and struck the back of a 2014 Kia. The 2014 Kia then struck a 2013 Dodge, which crashed into the back of a 2012 Toyota.

 

Three people suffered minor injuries in the accident. They were the driver of the 2021 Kia, a 50-year-old woman from Grain Valley, Missouri, the driver of the 2014 Kia, a 62-year-old woman from Independence, Missouri, and the driver of the Toyota, a 32-year-old man from Overland Park, Kansas. All three refused treatment at the scene.

 

The MSHP was assisted by the Lee’s Summit Police Department.
