News: 3 injured in Thanksgiving night car wreck in Pettis County

PETTIS COUNTY, MO – Three people were injured in a crash in Pettis County on Thanksgiving, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

 

State troopers responded to Jones Road north of Patrick Road after the crash was reported at about 6 p.m.

 

They learned that the driver of a 2003 Nissan Xterra was heading northbound on Jones Road when the vehicle ran off the right side of the roadway.  The driver overcorrected several times before the vehicle overturned and came to rest in the middle of the road.

 

One passenger, a 16-year-old girl from Zillah, Washington, was ejected from the vehicle.  She was airlifted to Research Hospital with serious injuries.   The driver, an 18-year-old female from La Monte, Missouri, was also seriously injured and taken to Centerpoint Medical Center.  Neither person was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.

 

Another passenger, a 20-year-old man from Palmer, Alabama, sustained minor injuries and was not transported.  The vehicle was totaled and removed from the scene by tow crews.
