KANSAS CITY, MO – A second person has died as the result of a high-speed car wreck that occurred in Kansas City last week, KSHB reports.
Kansas City Fire Department crews arrived in the vicinity of Ward Parkway and Brush Creek Parkway Nov. 23 at about 2 a.m. and found that a sedan had crashed into Brush Creek. An initial investigation indicated that the driver was heading west on Ward Parkway at a high rate of speed and was not able to negotiate a curve in the roadway at the intersection.
The vehicle went over a guardrail and plunged into the creek, where it landed upside down. Two people were pulled from the vehicle with what reported as life-threatening injuries, and were rushed to an area hospital.
One of them, a female passenger, was pronounced dead later that day. The Medical Examiner’s Office notified police that the driver had died just before 4:15 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 27.
The cause of the accident remains under investigation by the Kansas City Police Department.
