JOHNSON COUNTY, MO – A car accident in Johnson County early Monday morning sent two teenagers to the hospital, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
State troopers responded to the area of N. College Avenue and East Culton Street after the crash was reported at about 3:35 a.m.
The MSHP said the driver of a 2006 Chevrolet Blazer was heading westbound when the vehicle crossed the center of the roadway and crashed into a tree.
A passenger in the car, a 15-year-old boy, suffered moderate injuries while the driver, a 17-year-old boy, sustained minor injuries. The two, both residents of Warrensburg, Missouri, were transported to Western Missouri Medical Center. Neither occupant of the car was wearing a seat belt at the time of the wreck, troopers said.
The MSHP was assisted by the Johnson County Ambulance District at the scene.
