News: 2 hurt in crash after driver fails to yield at stop sign in Jackson County

JACKSON COUNTY, MO – Two drivers were injured when their vehicles collided in Jackson County on Friday evening, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

 

State troopers responded to the crash site on Buckner Tarsney Road near Truman Road after the incident was reported at 6:36 p.m.

 

Preliminary details indicated that the driver of a 2012 Honda Accord was heading westbound and failed to yield at a stop sign. The Accord struck the front of a northbound 1995 GMC Sonoma.

 

The driver of the Honda, a 61-year-old man from Independence, Missouri, and the driver of the GMC, an 85-year-old man from Buckner, Missouri, were both seriously injured and transported to Centerpoint Medical Center.

 

Both were wearing seat belts at the time of the accident. Their vehicles were totaled and removed from the scene from tow crews.
