JOHNSON COUNTY, MO – Two drivers were hospitalized after their vehicles collided in Johnson County Tuesday morning, state troopers said.
The accident took place on Highway 50 shortly after 6 a.m., according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol’s crash report.
The MSHP said 71-year-old Cathy Randall of Warrensburg, Missouri was driving a 2003 Ford westbound on the highway when she slowed to turn. The driver of another westbound vehicle, a 2006 Chevrolet failed to slow down and crashed into the Ford.
Randall was seriously injured and was transported to Western Missouri Medical Center. The driver of the Chevrolet, 26-year-old Alexander Jones of Clinton, Missouri, was taken to the same hospital with minor injuries.
State troopers said neither driver was wearing a seat belt at the time.
