News: 2 critically injured after vehicle crashes near Linwood Boulevard in Kansas City

KANSAS CITY, MO – Police and emergency crews were dispatched to a car wreck in Kansas City on Wednesday that left two people critically injured, the Kansas City Star reported.

 

The crash was reported in the area of Linwood Boulevard and Broadway Boulevard at 12:17 p.m.  Investigators learned that the driver of a Dodge Journey suffered a possible medical emergency while heading south on Broadway Boulevard.

 

The car sped up through the intersection before colliding with a parked, unoccupied Lexus.  The Dodge went onto a sidewalk, hit a light pole, and a Vietnam memorial before continuing south through grass and crashing into a VFW building.

 

The driver and passenger of the Dodge were hospitalized and reported to be in very critical condition.  The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
