News: Impairment suspected in Kansas City crash that critically injured passenger

KANSAS CITY, MO – A rear-end collision in Kansas City early Saturday morning caused multiple injuries, according to the Kansas City Star.

The incident happened in the area of Main Street and 38th Street just after 12:30 a.m.   Police investigators learned that a Chevrolet Impala stopped in a KC Streetcar lane in front of a nightclub.  At that time a Chevrolet Malibu going south on Main Street at a high rate of speed crashed into the Impala.

Everyone involved was transported to area hospitals, including five females who were in the Impala.  One passenger in the Malibu was reported to have been critically injured.

Police said impairment appears to have been a factor in the wreck.  The investigation is ongoing.
