INDEPENDENCE, MO – A collision that injured a pedestrian on Friday night is under investigation by the Independence Police Department, according to the Kansas City Star.
The 35-year-old pedestrian was struck by a vehicle in the area of East 23rd Street and South Sterling Avenue at about 8:30 p.m. Investigators learned that the victim had stepped into traffic from the median when they were hit by a 2023 Maserati that was going southbound on Sterling Avenue.
The pedestrian was hospitalized in critical condition. The driver of the vehicle stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigating officers.
