KANSAS CITY, MO – A crash involving a stolen pickup truck Monday left two people injured, one critically, Kansas City police said.
KMBC reports officers responded to the scene after the incident occurred in the area of 39th Street and Benton Boulevard. Police determined that the driver of a stolen GMC pickup was speeding while going east on 39th Street just before noon and went through a red light. The truck collided with a southbound Lincoln SUV, then hit a traffic control signal pole.
The driver of the GMC was taken to the hospital and was listed in critical condition. The Lincoln driver was hospitalized in serious but stable condition.
Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the wreck.
