News: Wrong-way crash sends car through yards in Kansas City, killing driver

KANSAS CITY, MO – Police said a speeding driver was killed when their car crashed in Kansas City last Friday night.

 

According to KMBC, the wreck occurred in the area of Holmes Road and 123rd Street at about 9:40 p.m. Police said the driver of a Honda Civic was going the wrong way in the northbound lanes of Holmes Road at a high rate of speed.

 

The driver of a Subaru Legacy tried to get out of the way of the approaching vehicle, but the cars collided.  The Civic went off the road and through several nearby yards before going airborne and rolling over onto its side.

 

The driver of the Civic was declared dead at the scene.  No one else was in the car at the time.  The driver of the Subaru refused any medical treatment.
