News: Vehicle crashes into front of store south of Grain Valley

GRAIN VALLEY, MO – Police officers were dispatched to a vehicle crash at a store south of Grain Valley on Wednesday afternoon.

According to a Facebook post from the Grain Valley Police Department, the accident took place at the Dollar General Store at 105 SW Rock Creek Lane at 4:30 p.m.

A preliminary investigation indicated the driver’s foot slipped onto the accelerator, causing the vehicle occupied by three people to travel into the storefront. No employees were injured and no serious injuries were reported.   One person inside the business sustained a minor scratch while moving out of the way of the vehicle.

The Dollar General location was undergoing construction at the time of the incident. The vehicle was towed from the scene, and the store was then closed until further notice while the damage could be assessed and the area determined to be safe.

Drivers were advised to avoid the area while the investigation was being conducted.
