CASS COUNTY, MO – A young boy riding a bicycle was injured when he was struck by a vehicle in Cass County, Missouri on Saturday night.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol’s accident report, the 7-year-old was riding on Locust Street just east of Armstrong Street when the incident took place shortly before 8:30 p.m.
The bicyclist entered the path of an eastbound 2009 Honda Fit driven by a 28-year-old Harrisonville, Missouri man, and the car struck the bicycle.
The boy, a resident of Pleasant Hill, Missouri, was seriously injured and transported by EMS to Children’s Mercy for treatment. He was not wearing a helmet at the time of the collision, according to the MSHP.
