ANSAS CITY, MO – Police in Kansas City, Missouri are investigating a fatal pedestrian collision that occurred on Tuesday afternoon, Fox 4 KC reported.
Officers responded to the area of East U.S. 40 Highway near White Avenue after the incident occurred shortly after 3:40 p.m. Police learned that a pedestrian was attempting to cross the highway from the south to the north. The driver of a black Hyundai was heading westbound and was not able to avoid hitting the pedestrian.
The victim was pronounced dead after being taken to an area hospital.
The Hyundai driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.
