News: Multi-vehicle accident on Interstate 70 leaves 1 dead, 2 injured

KANSAS CITY, MO – Police and emergency crews responded to a fatal multi-vehicle collision in Kansas City on Tuesday evening, according to Fox4KC.

 

A report by KCTV states that four vehicles were involved in the wreck on eastbound Interstate 70 at about 5:36 p.m.

 

The Kansas City Police Department said that the driver of a Nissan Altima failed to stop in congested traffic near Stadium Drive and collided with a Nissan van, leading to the pileup.

 

One passenger was pronounced dead at the scene by EMS, while two others were critically injured and rushed to an area hospital.

 

The eastbound lanes of I-70 were shut down in the area while the accident was being cleared and investigated.

 

Major traffic delays were reported as a result of the crash, which remains under investigation.
