INDEPENDENCE, IN – The Independence Police Department is investigating a fatal accident that occurred on Tuesday afternoon, reports KCTV.
Police identified the victim of the single-vehicle crash as 27-year-old Jose Zamora-Fierro.
According to investigators, he was driving a Honda Civic northbound at excessive speeds in the area of Fair Street and Noland Road at about 12:46 p.m. The vehicle went off the roadway and crashed into a tree.
Zamora-Fierro died Tuesday evening after being transported to an area hospital. No one else was in the vehicle at the time.
