KANSAS CITY, MO – A motorcycle and a Kansas City Metro bus were involved in a fatal collision on Tuesday afternoon, according to Fox4KC.
The crash took place at the intersection of The Paseo and East 9th Street. A preliminary investigation found that the bus driver was going west on 9th Street shortly after 1 p.m. and failed to stop for a posted stop sign at The Paseo.
The bus then entered the intersection and crashed into the motorcyclist, who was heading south. The motorcycle rider was thrown from the bike and was pronounced dead after being transported to an area hospital. The victim was not wearing a helmet at the time the accident occurred.
The bus driver and the passengers on board the bus were not injured in the crash, which is under investigation by the police department’s Accident Investigation Squad.
