News: Motorcycle driver killed, passenger injured in Kansas City accident

KANSAS CITY, MO – A motorcyclist was killed in a crash with a vehicle at Noland Road and East 49th Street in Kansas City, according to the Kansas City Star.

 

Police said the driver of a Dodge Journey pulled onto Noland Road Tuesday at about 4:45 p.m. but realized she was going in the wrong direction. As she was turning around, she backed into the path of a Harley Davidson motorcycle near East 49th Street.

 

The operator of the motorcycle crashed into the side of the Dodge, and the driver and passenger on the motorcycle were thrown from the bike. The driver suffered fatal injuries while the passenger was transported to an area hospital with injuries that were not disclosed.  No information was released on the identities of the victims.

 

Both people on the motorcycle were wearing helmets at the time of the crash. Police said the driver of the Dodge had just purchased the vehicle when she pulled onto the roadway. The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
