JOHNSON COUNTY, MO – A motorcyclist was killed in a collision with a pickup truck in Johnson County on Monday morning, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
State troopers responded to the scene on US-50 just east of CR-1201 Road after the incident occurred shortly before 6 a.m.
According to investigators, the operator of a 2000 Suzuki motorcycle was attempting to pass a 2023 Ford F-150 pickup as both vehicles were heading westbound. The motorcycle struck the front driver’s side of the Ford and overturned.
The motorcyclist was ejected from the bike and was pronounced dead after being transported to Western Missouri Medical Center. He was identified as 36-year-old Ronnie Joy of Holden, Missouri. No injuries were reported for the 59-year-old man driving the pickup.
