BENTON, MO – A motorcycle rider was injured in an accident in Benton County on Wednesday morning, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
The MSHP said the operator of a 1982 Suzuki was heading south on Carpet Barn Road south of Route H when the incident happened shortly after 7 a.m. The motorcyclist failed to negotiate a curve in the road, ran off the right side of the roadway, and struck a steel fence.
The rider, a 52-year-old man from Lincoln, Missouri, was seriously injured. He was transported via air ambulance to University Hospital for treatment.
