A report by KSHB states that Independence police officers responded to a hit-and-run incident reported at about 8:20 p.m. on East 42nd Street. An officer tried to pull over the vehicle believed to have been involved but the man driving failed to comply, and a pursuit began along eastbound Interstate 70.
