News: Kansas City car accident leaves driver dead, passenger injured

KANSAS CITY, MO – The Kansas City Police Department released information on a fatal crash that occurred on Sunday evening, according to the Kansas City Star.

 

Officers were dispatched to the scene of the single-vehicle wreck in the Brown Estates neighborhood in east Kansas City at about 8:30 p.m.

 

Police learned that the driver of a Dodge Challenger was traveling at high speed in the vicinity of Winchester Avenue and East 63rd Street and was unable to negotiate a curve in the roadway.   The Dodge went off the road, onto the shoulder, and overturned.

 

The driver and front seat passenger were ejected and were rushed to an area hospital.  The driver was pronounced dead, while the passenger was critically injured.  Neither person was wearing a seat belt at the time of the car accident.  Their identities were not immediately released.
