News: Independence man dies after crashing into tractor-trailer on I-70

BLUE SPRINGS, MO – A driver was killed when his car collided with a truck in Blue Springs on Wednesday afternoon, according to KSHB.

 

The Missouri State Highway Patrol stated that the driver of a 2014 BMW X3 crashed into the back of a 2020 Volvo tractor-trailer just east of Woods Chapel Road shortly after 2:30 p.m.

 

The BMW driver, a 28-year-old man from Independence, died at the scene.  The truck driver, a 38-year-old man from Hollywood, California, was not injured in the wreck.

 

The eastbound lanes of I-70 were shut down for about three hours while the accident was being cleared and investigated.
