News: DUI investigated in Kansas City collision that left 2 injured

KANSAS CITY, MO – A head-on collision in Kansas City early Tuesday morning left both drivers injured, one critically.

 

According to Fox 4 KC, the accident occurred in the area of Independence Avenue and Garfield Avenue in the Pendleton Heights neighborhood.

 

Police said the driver of a Chevrolet Impala was heading east on Independence Avenue at about 3:30 a.m. At the same time, the driver of a Honda Odyssey was going west on Independence and crossed over the center line, then entered the eastbound lanes and collided with the Chevrolet.

 

The Honda driver was hospitalized with critical injuries while the Chevrolet driver was reported in stable condition.

 

Investigators are now trying to determine whether the Honda driver was impaired at the time of the crash.
