JOHNSON COUNTY, MO – A driver died after colliding with another vehicle at an intersection in Johnson County on Sunday morning, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
The MSHP was dispatched to the scene on westbound U.S. 50 Highway at NW 1501 Road at about 6 a.m.
State troopers learned that a man driving a 2001 Saturn went through a stop sign and entered the path of a 2025 Ford Escape, resulting in a collision.
The Saturn driver, a 21-year-old man from Villa Rica, Georgia, was pronounced dead at the scene. The Ford driver, a 44-year-old woman from Knob Noster, Missouri, sustained minor injuries and refused treatment.
Both drivers were wearing their seat belts at the time of the accident, state troopers said. The Johnson County Sheriff’s Department assisted the MSHP with the crash response and investigation.
