KANSAS CITY, MO – A driver has died of injuries suffered in a high-speed crash in Kansas City on Sunday afternoon, KCTV reported.
Police responded to the area of East 43rd Street and The Paseo after the accident was reported just after 4:35 p.m.
The Kansas City Police Department stated that a Jeep Cherokee SUV was traveling west on 43rd Street and entered the intersection from a stop sign. The driver of a Chevrolet Equinox was going north on The Paseo at a high rate of speed and collided with the Jeep. The Jeep overturned, ejecting the driver from the vehicle.
The Jeep driver was rushed to an area hospital with critical injuries and was pronounced dead on Thursday morning. The Jeep passenger was hospitalized with injuries that were not life-threatening. The driver of the Chevrolet was not injured.
Police are continuing their investigation into the cause of the crash.
