News: Accident on Interstate 35 in Kansas City leaves driver critically injured

KANSAS CITY, MO — Kansas City firefighters responded to Interstate 35 early Monday morning after a car crashed and caught fire, Fox4KC reported.

 

The incident took place in the vicinity of 17th Street just before 3:20 a.m. Fire crews arrived to find the vehicle in flames but the driver was able to make it out of the car. The person was taken to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries.

 

The accident and resulting fire shut down the northbound lanes of I-35, causing traffic delays in the area.   Lanes reopened at about 5 a.m.
