News: Accident on northbound Interstate 435 kills 2, injures 2

KANSAS CITY, MO – Two people were killed in a collision on Interstate 435 in Kansas City, Missouri on Sunday morning, police said.

 

A report by KSHB states that the wreck took place on I-435 northbound near Missouri 210 Highway at about 11:05 a.m.

 

Investigators said the driver of a Ford Fusion slowed down or stopped for unknown reasons on the interstate.  A Hino box truck then crashed into the back of the Ford.

 

The driver of the Ford and a passenger in the back were both pronounced dead at the scene. The front seat passenger in the Ford and the driver of the box truck were hospitalized with injuries that were described as critical but not life-threatening.

 

The area around the crash site was blocked off to traffic for about four hours for the crash response and investigation.
