News: Concrete truck driver dies after crashing into retaining wall on U.S. 71 Highway

KANSAS CITY, MO – Kansas City police and first responders were called to a fatal crash involving a concrete truck on Tuesday morning.

 

According to Fox4KC, the wreck took place at the on-ramp of southbound 71 Highway from eastbound Missouri 150 Highway at about 9 a.m.  A preliminary investigation revealed that the driver of a Mack concrete truck lost control of the vehicle while going around the curve of the entrance ramp at a high rate of speed.  The truck rolled over and crashed into a concrete retaining wall on the east side of the ramp.

 

The driver died at the scene.  No one else was in the truck, and no other vehicles were involved.

 

The cause of the wreck remains under investigation by Kansas City police.
